reiki

I certified as a Reiki Master Teacher in 2011.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation, that promotes healing.  The client lies on a massage table, fully clothed, while the practitioner channels Reiki ("rei" meaning universal and "ki" meaning life energy), holding their hands at various positions to facilitate improved energy flow throughout the body.

psych-k

A set of processes that allow the client to re-write limiting beliefs and subconscious programs, replacing them with positive, life-enhancing ones.  This technique utilises muscle-testing (kinesiology) to directly address the subconscious mind and belief systems.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is observation without judgement.  It uses the conscious mind as we engage only with the present moment.  This allows us to free ourselves of the unhelpful conditioning and patterns of the unconscious mind, and also assess things more objectively.  The coaching process helps us to systematically identify any judgements or limiting beliefs that are preventing you from living the life you want for yourself.  Bringing awareness to these precipitates a change in perception and releases any attachment we have to previous patterns of behaviour.

eft & matrix reimprinting

Emotional Freedom Technique, commonly known as "tapping", is a process where acupressure points are stimulated by tapping or rubbing, while focussing on situations that represent personal fear or trauma. Matrix Reimprinting combines EFT with visualisation to process and release the chronic effects of past trauma and stress on the subconscious mind. It is gentle and effective, and importantly, doesn’t require the client to necessarily relive the event and risk re-traumatisation.

private yoga session

I am a Yoga Alliance accredited teacher, with over 700hrs of training.  I am trained in a number of styles, including Vinyasa, Hatha, pre-natal, yin, restorative and yoga nidra; and am currently studying children's yoga.

Yin is my specialty, which came as a surprise, as I thought it would be 'boring'!  This turned out to be an ego defence/fear response, as Yin is a powerfully mindful and introspective practice.  Yin utilises the meridian system of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and postures are held for 3-5mins.  the practice focuses on connective tissues so is done before other movement to ensure that the muscles don't take over!
